Re: Updating configure.in

Thank you, Maurik,

I modified your blastmc/Makefile.in some more before fixing the X11
and Motif libraries stuff. First, I removed the explicit rules for
FC and CC (which does not need to be specified in the Makefile since
gnu make is smart enough to know what to do with *.f and *.cc files).
Second, I made the blastmc/Makefile.in behave exactly like BlastLib one,
i.e. it will compile in any directory. It is still my wish to replace
the present "run" directory with any directory a user wishes to have
his stuff in. This means that the grid and geom data files could be
put in a separate directory which would be retrievable through CVS.
But I do not insist. It just seem awkward to me to force the executables
to reside in the same directory as one wants to run his codes in.

Now BlastLib and blastmc compile with the "new" method, also on my
campus RH6.2 machine. blast exec does not link using the 2001 cernlib
since the dgels_ lapack routine (which is never used) is called from
packlib. But with cernlib 2000 everything works ok.

I will do this as soon as I find time.

Nice to see we are moving along on yet another front, thanks again for help.

Simon
