Hello Blasters,

Ernie has just updated the version of root on all the
BLAST computers at Bates. It is now version 3.02 . Please
check which root you are using. Check
                setenv ROOTSYS /usr/local/root
and you path
                set path=($path $ROOTSYS/bin)

Recently many of us had been using test versions of root from
                /home/blast/blast/root3.00
or
                /home/blast/blast/root3.02
this means when you started root, you computer went across the
network to the diskserver to get root. Now it is local (and
so will start faster).

        libBlast.so has been tested with root3.02 . nsed.cc need
5 lines changed - but the fix is in cvs and it too works. I'll
be working my way through other libraries in the next few days.

                                Tim Smith
