the BLAST users account & control network

Hello BLASTers,

The Blast users account is meant to be used for online
purposes. Ernie will be changing the permission on that
account so it can only be used on the computers in the online
area. These include dblast07, 08, 09, 10, 11 . This means that
from the lab network, or "outside" you can not directly log
onto the blast account. BUT there really is no reason for
you to do so. You should be doing your off-line analysis
in you own area.

If this causes serious trouble please contact me. It
will work just fine - you just might need to add a few things
to you personal account.

Also - about access to the control network. All the
online computers are dual ported on the control network.
So we really never have to go through locus. We have our
own access point.

                                        Tim
