[BLASTTALK] IMPORTANT:To All Shift Takers

Hello Shift Takers,

There is a concern over the wire chambers warming up enough to cause wires to break.
This is especially true now that the BLAST torroid is frequently being powered up, so it
is important that those on shift monitor the chamber temperature. There are eight
temperature sensors mounted on the wire chamber whose values (labeled T1-T8) are
displayed on the wire chamber gas control system that is currently running on dblast09.
It is important that those individuals on shift periodically check that the
temperatures are within there allowed limits. To aid in this, there are two high
alarm limits set for each sensor. All sensors except T6 are mounted on the exterior
walls of the chambers and the limits are 30 degrees C for a "MINOR" Alarm and 33 degrees
C for a "MAJOR" alarm. T6 is attached to the electronics box and has 50 degrees for
"MINOR" and 53 for a"MAJOR" alarm. All limits are set somewhat arbitrarily and may
change with time. To make things simple there is an Alarm Status window on the control
system panel that will display either "No Alarms", "WARNING" if any MINOR alarm is
tripped, or "ALARM : POWER DOWN COILS" if a MAJOR alarm occurs. If a warning is shown
,the shift takers should watch it more closely. If an ALARM is shown, one may want to
call Doug .

Cheers,
Adam
