left-right assymetry of ep-counts in tof's

hi john,
  here is a plot of the ep-cross section measured by the tof's (clr.ps,
mc= black, left electron=green, right=red). the plot 'ep_counts' breaks
up the hits by proton paddle (top 2 rows, left proton tof #6-15, bottom
2 rows for proton on the right sector, black=mc, red=data). for each
paddle combination, i looked at adc(proton) v.s. tdc(left-right) and
make cuts by eye on the elastic events, to be checked into
exp/commis/phase1/cuts.C. it was hard to get the cuts very exact and
the background was pretty large on some combinations, but it gives us an
idea of how we are doing. i used 2M events from runs 1479-1489.
  i also include one plot of 'adc vs. (left-right)tdc' for left#8,
right#8 coincidences (top=tof adc, bottom=cc adc, left/right for
left/right sectors). the central line is for ee-events, and then there
are the ep-events, but there is also another pair of strong peaks out
even farther. any idea of what these are?
