ABS Studies continue.
Hall was accessed to modify compression tube and associated ion gauge. Also Ion Polarimeter was magnetically shielded where possible - Mostly at the Wien Filter.
HK and ET evaluated use of compression tube to measure RF transition efficiencies and elected to wait until tomorrow to allow vacuum to improve so a better signature of transitions on/off could be obtained.
ET studied/tuned ion polarimeter w/ polarized Deuterium. Yield of ~1 nA/mA is ~10 times lower than with BLAST off. However M2 and M4 peaks were observed and the effect of the MFT RF transition could be seen. (1nA --> 1.3 nA)
The mass spectra in the ion polarimeter are very much cleaner at low stored beam currents, ~5 mA, and ET found it neccesary to increase collector voltage from 10 kV to 35 kV, penultimate electrode from 5 kV to 15 kV, to mitigate steering effects from the BLAST field.

Attached files show Ion Polarimeter mass spectra with BLAST on, and Ion polarimeter yield at fixed wien filter (M2) for various states of MFT. The white curve is the normalized ion current. The horizontal axis is time (Wien filter setting for wf_scan_pol_d2_blast_on_03.ps, MFT state for wf_scan_rft_OnOff_random.ps).

We were unable to remove attached .dat file. Ignore it.

Handed over to Doug and Tavi for unpol D2 running and CC matching.

Additional useful logbook features would allow clearing operator/user names, mouse copy/cut/paste and remove attached files.
