I think "-bm -1" is in fact correct. see the following lines in lrn.cc:
        if (opt.GetValue("MagField.Epics", false))
          recon.fField->SetMagnitude
            (opt.GetValue("MagField.Magnitude", 1.)
             * raw->epics[blast_index].value/6727.);

"-bm -1" will set opt.GetValue("MagField.Magnitude", 1.) to -1 and the
absolute value will be calculated from
        raw->epics[blast_index].value/6727.)

I think Chris wrote these codes and I have sent email to him asking for
confirmation on this issue.
