Date: Wed Dec 24 2003 - 07:42:43 EST

Operators: hasell ---- ----

Continued running unpolarised target at 0.04 sccm.

Beam injected at 90 mA, spin flipped at 70 mA, dumped at 40 mA.

01:30 - changed helium bottles for WC

Studied WC operating voltages and thesholds

Run 4225 Operating voltage 3800 V, thresholds 2 V
Run 4226 3850 / 2 V
Run 4227 3850 / 3 V
Run 4228 3900 / 3 V
Run 4229 junk, CODA hung upon start
Run 4230 3900 / 4 V EPICSwindow didn't start up, restarted in xterm window
Run 4231 3900 / 4 V reset CODA again, back to normal

04:00 - start of empty target runs. Set MFC to 0, closed valves 5 and 8.

Run 4232 3900 / 4 V
Run 4233 3900 / 4 V

Looking at WC_quick.C output conclude that 3850 / 3 V helps problem with outer chamber in left sector. Higher threshold (4 V) also reduces the hot wires but need tracking analysis to check that good hits not also eliminated. Have set default values for WC to 3850 / 3 V.

Run 4234 3850 / 3 V
Run 4235 3850 / 3 V
Run 4236 3850 / 3 V - CODA hung after 50k events, cycled power in D tunnel.
Run 4237 3850 / 3 V

All unpolarised target runs crunching. and empty runs up to 4233.

Waiting for free machines to crunch runs 4234-4237. Three spud jobs are about 80% finished so last crunching can be started in a couple of hours.

Run list up to date.

07:45 - shutting down for holidays. All HV off, WC gas system off, opening the south hall and putting on the WC covers.

Have a good holiday !
