[BLAST_SHIFTS] Daily BLAST meeting, Run plan for weekend

Since last night, a lot of data have been taken on deuterium with the 60
cm cell. However, analysis by Genya and Vitaliy of the crunched runs
indicates that the target polarization is quite low, especially the
tensor. This is attributable to the instability of the Strong Field
Transition Unit, which must be monitored closely by experimenters on
shift. Details on this are in the e-log.

The plan for the weekend is to continue taking data with the ABS with
deuterium to build up statistics on the target polarization. We are
presently running with 110 mA at injection. It is hoped that the target
polarization will rise if the SFT behaves in a more stable manner than it
did last night.

If the Strong Field Transition Unit breaks altogether over the weekend and
we can't run the ABS, we will use the beam for running unpolarized
deuterium. Accelerator physics also has a backup program for the beam.

There is expected to be a discussion of the target polarization data
and their implications for timing of the shutdown at the Operations
Meeting on Monday.
