if one or more of the gas bottles were indeed empty for six hours, then
you're probably going to have to give the new bottles time to fill up the
chambers. i don't know which bottle ran out. if it was the isobutane,
then you'll probably have the chambers massively tripping nonstop until
the new isobutane reaches steady-state. if it was the helium that ran
out, then i suspect that the chamber rates will be very low and
signal-to-noise will be close to 1. anyway, if either of these two
problems become manifest, then it means that the chamber gas is not yet
equally-dispersed, and you should wait longer until it is.
