[BLAST_SHIFTS] Shift Tasks

Came on shift this morning and found that the polarisation log hadn't
been done for 2 days. Person I was replacing said he was filling in
the run list but couldn't figure out what the polarisation log was !

Then I noticed that the auto-cruncher was not running. It hadn't been
running for almost 24 hours !

Yet I look at the checklist and beside every run number there is a
check mark to indicate that the run is crunching. I suppose people
think that when they click on the box at the end of a run that that is
it. It isn't. You have to check that the run number has been added to
runlist.txt by the script and that it eventually gets assigned to a bud
or a spud by the autocruncher. You also have to check that the
autocruncher doesn't stop. All these are fairly obvious and are the
responsibility of the person on shift.

The experiment runs very smoothly. Runs take about 1 hour typically.
In that time there are a few simple tasks that we want the shift person
to do. It takes about 2 minutes. If you don't understand how to do
something --- ask.

Restarted cruncher and immediately the backlog of 26 runs got assigned
and are now running but it will be a while before they are done.

                      Cheers,
