[BLAST_SHIFTS] Shift summary 04/05/2005 A (1-9)

From: Electronic Log Book (elog@blast05.lns.mit.edu)
Date: Tue Apr 05 2005 - 09:04:19 EDT

Operator: zwart

Shift was interupted due to beam troubles. Ring current drops suddenly. WC R24 trips every 5-10 minutes. This problem eventuallly precluded data taking.

After Larry made a minor adjustment of the ring sextupole (LSXF2) twe are able to run again. At the time of the adjustment the persistent vertical oscillations, visible on the spectrum analayzer in CCR, were significantly reduced.
The problem appears to be cured. One signature that this adjustment is effective is that the persistent signal of the vertical oscillations (visible on the spectrum analyzer in CCR) disappeared following the adjustment. Since the adjustment there have been no trips on WC R24.
