Hi,
it is planned to review the systematics of hPz and its impact on
observables depending on the vector polarization this Wednesday 6/15.
In the following week (6/22), the radiative corrections and various
attempts to handle them will be reviewed.
The meeting end of June will be dedicated to review the "kinematical
corrections". VZ is asking to move this meeting to Thursday 6/30. This
should not be a problem as there is the Bates cookout thereafter, so
everybody should be available.
At the meeting on 07/06 we will focus on the status of the neutron timing
calibrations. A review of all the physics analysis will follow in the week
of the collaboration meeting.
Please read on and people that are involved into below's topics should get
prepared. Everybody should attend the meetings as much as possible.
Specifically:
Wed
2005/06/15
-how is hPz obtained from d(e,e'p) quasielastic A_ed^V,
d(e,e'n) spin-parallel asymmetry, d(e,e'd) elastic, and d(e,e') quasielastic.
-what are the precise assumptions?
-statistical and systematic errors on hPz from the four reaction channels
-hPz vs. time for each reaction channel
-comparison of the four sources using the same dataset
-Variation of observables (A_ed^V, GEn, T11e/T10e, GMn) for the best
estimate of hPz and for the two most extreme values of hPz suggested by
the error
Wed
2005/06/22
-Review of radiative corrections
-Introduction to radiative corrections (PK?, CC?, can you present an
introduction?)
-Relevance to BLAST observables (elastic, quasielastic, inelastic)
-Precise calculation vs. helicity-independent only: how good is the
approximation?
-Precise calculation vs. peaking approximation: how good is the
approximation?
-Traditional way of unfolding
-Handling by other labs (Jlab, Mainz)
-Implementation into generator (MASCARAD)
-The Mainz-A1 library
Thu
2005/06/30
-Review of "kinematical corrections"
-Momentum corrections from p(e,e'p) elastic (EG)
-Momentum corrections from p(e,e'p) elastic (CC)
-Momentum corrections from d(e,e'p) quasielastic (AM)
Apply to test samples hydrogen and deuterium data (say 100kC each)
Demonstrate effect on distributions and resolutions:
Plot variables pe, the, pp, thp, W, Mmiss w/ and w/o above
corrections to see the size of corrections. Also histogram the
difference of variable (before) - variable (after).
Elastic p(e,e'p): 12 Correlation and Resolution plots.
First plot one variable of below vs the calculated one (2d) and then
the difference of them (1d):
pe-pecalc(th_e), pe-pecalc(thp), pe-pecalc(pp),
pp-ppcalc(thp), pp-ppcalc(the), pp-ppcalc(pe),
the-thecalc(pe), the-thecalc(pp), the-thecalc(thp)
thp-thpcalc(pe), thp-thpcalc(the), thp-thpcalc(pp),
All above 12 2d and 1d histograms for two sectors (=24 2d and 1d
histograms) and in each histogram overlayed the result 1) without
corrections, 2) EG, 3) AM, and 4) CC.
Quasielastic d(e,e'p): 4 Correlation and Resolution plots.
First plot variable of below vs the calculated one (2d) and then the
difference of them (1d):
pe-pecalc(the,pp,thp), the-thecalc(pe,pp,thp),
pp-ppcalc(the,pe,thp), thp-thpcalc(pe,the,pp)
All above 4 2d and 1d histograms for two sectors (=8 2d and 1d
histograms) and in each histogram overlayed the result 1) without
corrections, 2) EG, 3) AM, and 4) CC.
Make available the corrections in a usable way in the new pool area.
