Analysis meeting on Wednesday 2006/01/11

From: Michael Kohl (kohlm@mit.edu)
Date: Mon Jan 09 2006 - 14:56:47 EST

Hi,

please find the slides of last week's meeting along with minutes.pdf in
http://blast.lns.mit.edu/PRIVATE_RESULTS/USEFUL/ANALYSIS_MEETINGS/meeting_060105/

The next analysis meeting will be on Wednesday 2006/01/11 at 13:30 at
Bates, held by Doug at this time (I'll be in Ohio).

I like to remind everyone that attendance is strongly encouraged, and
people are welcome to call in if personal appearance is excluded.

Proposed agenda:

-Recrunch status
+lrn-v3_4_14/5 2005 (MK): lrn now crunching in the 16000's.
Expecting lrn_v3_4_14/5 to be ready by end of this week. Will send
around announcement and update of "recrunch_status".
+lrd_v3_4_15 hydrogen for old field map: what caused the angle
   difference to shift? (MK,EG)
-Straight track analysis with refined event selection (DH)
-Manpower for MC studies ??
  +Verification of material budget
+Energy loss, internal radiation with realistic resolution, multiple
   scattering for e-,e+,pi-,pi+,p,d
+Does reconstruction of MC with all switches off reproduce input?
  +Compare reconstructed unradiated-MC with reconstructed
radiated-MC. Can this be done for the same seed on an
   MC-event-by-event basis?
-If yes, then histogram the differences of momentum, angles, and z
for a given particle ID as a function of reconstructed momentum
and angle of the radiated-MC (parameterize the resulting profiles
of dp,dtheta,dz vs momentum for slices of theta as polynomial
    functions of momentum).
-If not, then choose a grid of p-theta and compare for the
reconstructed radiated and unradiated MC the centroids of the
histogrammed reconstructed momenta, angles, and z (again,
parameterize the difference of the centroids dp,dtheta,dz for
slices of theta as polynomial functions of momentum).
+The obtained parameterizations of dp,dtheta,dz(theta,p,ID) can be
applied event-by-event to the analysis reconstruction.

-Schedule of upcoming meetings:
+Wed 2006/01/11 MK in Ohio -> held by Doug Hasell
  +Wed 2006/01/18 MK away
