        Hi,

We seem to have very clean events in wire chamber.
I believe that we are ready to take data with wire chamber.
Shift takers, please add wire chamber in the data stream!

Around 10:00 P.M., CCR gave us clean beam with unpolarized helium
target at 0.2 slm.
I have set the low voltage threshold to 2 volt for all boxes and reset
the WC high voltage.
After the reset, wire chamber high voltage, using FTP, seems working
fine.
With beam current, 34 mA, none of the sense wires are drawing more than
0.5 microamp.
There are still some boxes tripping (L21 and R24 as before and L18 is
now tripping, too).
Looking at the TDC plots, we have signal to background ratio better than
20:1 for all chambers.
Looking at the event display, we get tracks almost every other events
(maybe, every three events).
All these tracks seem to come from target. Now, rarely we get tracks
from downstream.
Oh, I should say that BLAST power (magnetA) is on.

I am going to be in and out of my office at MIT tomorrow and will check
data from campus.
If you have any problem with the drift chamber, please call me 617)
287-0090(Home)
and 617) 258-5437(Office). I stopped the cell phone service, so 617)
680-2511 doesn't work
any more.

        -T
