[BLAST_SHIFTS] Daily organisational meeting 5/9/03

From: Douglas Hasell (hasell@MIT.EDU)
Date: Fri Sep 05 2003 - 16:28:03 EDT

Atomic fraction measured this morning at 45 or 50 % depending on
whether or not the MFT was on. Problems with nanoameter. Will be
remeasured this afternoon. Otherwise collected data all day with some
WC boxes tripping.

Plan for the weekend is continue running polarised hydrogen (23 state
only) with reversed longitudinal holding field. Atomic fraction should
be measured daily.

At 00:00 Monday the cooling for the ABS nozzle will be turned off so
that it will be warm by the morning when the ABS will be removed.
Between 00:00 and 08:00 we will run with an empty target.

Monday morning the hall will be open to remove the ABS and to install
the LADS. It is expected that this work will take two days. Filling the
snakes and other jobs will also be done in this period.

Wednesday we will resume running with initial tests to verify the LADS
cabling and rates. After this Tancredi has suggested a few days of
trigger studies to test the singles trigger. Other work to be done
before the shutdown includes running with the buffered gas system, runs
with an empty target cell, installing a collimator, and running with
reduced and reversed toroidal fields.

                      Cheers,
