The 3 TB junk is likely wch noise from the low voltage ps being switched
off. I suspect you crash because each event has the maximum number of
wch hits in it. All other data should be good.

Here, as for field off runs, you should lrn without any tracking options.

 lrn -lz -ff -nw ####
