[BLAST_SHIFTS] Shift summary 10/17/2004 B (9-17)

Uneventful shift as far as data taking. Other than a few bad fills accompanied
by HV trips, the shift was smooth.

The maximum beam current has been high 140s with about 25 min lifetime near
dump current.

The beam polariztion was around 66-67% in the morning. Reduced the absorber
thickness back to 1.5" to see if there is a "strong" correlation. The average
polariztion for the last 8 hours shows 64% with reduced absorber (1.5").
Planing to run with this setting overnight, and increas it back to 2" on Monday,
for more statistics.

Aside from these, Chi noticed that runs that has been crunched since September 22nd has crunching problems (see elog 30248). The recrunch for those runs are underway. 6 spuds were allocated by the online auto-cruncher, and the rest of the available CPU power is reserved for this relatively small "full-recrunch" that should take less than a week.
