[BLAST_SHIFTS] Shift summary 10/30/2004 C (17-1)

Operator: kdow

Running on ABS hydrogen. Every once in a while, ligit takes a 50% jump and decays back to normal over the course of a minute or two.

WC time spectra look good in both sectors. One reboot of HV IOC needed. One HV trip in left phototubes.

WC scalers were high at the start of the shift. Dave worked on steering in the injection line and ring, got them down some, and the DAQ live time improved. I saw as much as 340 C/hr with injection at 150 mA. The steering does not seem to have affected the Compton backscatter rate, it is still around 380/mA. There is still a false asymmetry of about 10% in the Compton.

Paul has been having trouble with the CWRF and decreased the injection current to try to recover it. That was not successful, and in fact beam was off for 30 minutes. Now that beam is back, Paul will try to improve the injection fill rate and increase the fill current.

Good runs 12214-12219. All crunching. For hydrogen, crunching a 500k run seems to take only 8-9 hours, and a run takes about 1 hour to acquire.

Target polarization at 45 degrees agrees with that at 32 degrees.

Runs 12144-12183 (32 degrees -- 8.98 kC):
h*Pz Left 0.45 +- 0.01 Right 0.44 +- 0.01

Runs 12184-12210 (45 degrees analyzed so far -- 6.35 kC):
h*Pz Left 0.45 +- 0.01 Right 0.47 +- 0.01

I believe h is about constant for all these runs at around 0.67-0.68. This gives Pz of 0.67. Tancredi said he would check the false asymmetry on his shift today.
