On shift: Bill Franklin

This shift was devoted to studying rates and spectra for the Compton
polarimeter's CsI detector. Variables included CsI high voltage,
injection current, and thickness of stainless steel absorbers for
backscatter line. Injection current was restricted to less than 30 mA
with absorbers out. Rate reductions from absorbers appeared to be fairly
consistent with expectations. Energy spectrum shape differed rather
subtly from spectra without absorbers. Data should be replayed to get
better normalization for background subtraction.

Tonight we will attempt to raise injection current further (only 50 ma was
available) amd to compare false asymmetry spectra with and without
absorbers.
