[BLAST_SHIFTS] Dec. 17, 16:00-24:00, Hasell and Degrush on shift

Early part of shift just taking data with half wavelength plate alternately
in or out, running with ABS, toroid at 3000 A, and Compton polarimeter on.

19:00 - Compton Polarimeter DAQ repeatedly dies and decided not to struggle
with it any more after consulting with Tancredi.

21:00 - problems with CODA not talking to ROCF2. Cycle power but doesn't
help, called Karen and was able to reboot via serial port, and ROC back and
able to restart CODA.

21:30 - wire chambers noisy in recent runs so decided to try optimising
slits and bump. Run immediately after optimising shows wire chambers much
improved; quiet and clean tracks. However, later runs have noise again. Is
it space charge, bad beam tune, or low toroid field. No chance to
investigate as other problems develop.

22:30 - can't communicate with ROCF2 again. Can't connect via serial port.
Power cycling does not help. Notice that 5 V power is not present. Call
Karen again and she will come in to look at it and possibly swap power
supplies. Call CCR and ask for the hall to be opened (need elevator and D
tunnel open). Toroid and ABS magnets being powered down as well.

                                                  Cheers,
                                                          Douglas
