[BLAST_ANAWARE] analysis/software meeting minutes

From: Tancredi Botto (tancredi@mitlns.mit.edu)
Date: Wed May 14 2003 - 22:43:52 EDT

- Various analysis issues still open

background issues: hopefully to determine a data filter.
asymmetry (jason, essentially ready but needs to run full statistics)
        false asymmetry
neutron detectors (hauke will look into any issue)
        Cross section (comparison with monte-carlo)

- discussion about how charge is sliced with spin states. Maybe
a calibration could be possible. No real time synchronization
between epics/scalers/physcis stream but each is time stamped.

- shows some demo of the present reconstructed data

- Reconstruction v3:
WX: the new fast fit algorythm almost ready (1week).
Shows much improved FF track to newton (track
selection) and better consistency with Zleft/Zright
        TL: New cluster algorythm optimization.
gcc-3.2 available on one(?) of the spuds
Version v3 ready in 3/4 months.
TB: gcc-3.2 fine but all users/bates machines need to upgrade.
            Requires planning.

- Online analyser/histogrammer: some discussion with tim, he will look
into current myRC functionality and possibly integrate.

----------- Post meeting

tb: made show_ep_asym.C a standard macro. Cuts are read from command
line. Please look into cuts.C for standard cuts to play with reconstructed
data (e.g. newton, truew, coplaw ....)
