After you turn ionpol (or any other chanel you want to keep off) off, then
hit set from the main window. It won't turn on again at the next oper. I
think it is in the prelim hv manual (e.g. in ~/pro2003/hv, maybe also in
the black book. One copy may also be in the logbook proper)

that is also ok, since the timing cuts are for the e-p elastic, not e-d..
or eep. But will look into it.
